Finding a New Financial Planner

by Rate Nerd on July 27, 2009

good-creditI recently found myself in need of a new financial planner as mine moved away.  I asked freinds for referrals, but then felt they were a bit biased and would recommend “their guy” no matter what because to do otherwise would make them look dumb.

Having had good luck with Angie’s List when looking for handymen (roofing, plumbing, etc) I decided to see if they had financial resources.  Surpirisingly, they have pretty robust listings for financial planners, accountants, and tax consultants.  I like Angie’s List because you can only post a review if you are a member, and they check for fake user postings.

I am still looking for “my guy”.  Would love to hear about other resources folks have for finding referrals.
