Plus if you use your Delta SkyMiles Credit Card to pay for your flight, you can earn double miles on Delta and Northwest purchases with the Credit Card. You must enroll and have a Delta SkyMiles and/or a Northwest WorldPerks account, and the Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express to participate.

Here are the rules for the frequent flyer promotion:
- You must be a new or existing Basic Delta SkyMiles Credit Cardmember from American Express and you must register online by September 30, 2009. The WorldPerks or SkyMiles account registered for this promotion and associated with the primary Delta SkyMiles Credit Card account is the only account eligible to earn double Bonus Miles.
- Promotion is limited to Basic primary Cardmembers with the classic, Gold or Platinum Delta SkyMiles Credit Card, the Delta SkyMiles Options Credit Card, the Delta Reserve Credit Card, as well as the Gold and Platinum Delta SkyMiles Business Credit Card and the Delta Reserve for Business Credit Card.
- Qualifying travel must be completed by December 31, 2009. A qualifying flight includes any Delta, Northwest, Northwest Airlink (includes Mesaba, Pinnacle, and Compass) or Delta Connection (includes ASA, Chautauqua Airlines, Comair, Freedom Airlines, Shuttle America and Skywest) flight. Codeshare flights operated by carriers other than the Delta Connection and Airlink carriers are excluded from this offer. Travel must be on a paid published fare. Tickets may be purchased using any form of acceptable payment at the time of purchase, to qualify for the double Bonus Miles.
- WorldPerks members will earn Bonus Miles in the WorldPerks program up until the WorldPerks program is merged with the SkyMiles program, currently scheduled for late 2009. Upon completion of the program merger, current WorldPerks members will continue to earn Bonus Miles in accordance with the rules of this promotion; however the miles will post into their combined SkyMiles program account. More information regarding the merger of the WorldPerks and SkyMiles programs will be communicated later in 2009.
- Double Bonus Miles for this promotion are in addition to your regular credited flight miles and Elite tier Bonus Miles. Double Bonus Miles do not count toward Elite qualification. Your Bonus Miles will appear automatically on your statement. Allow up to four to six weeks after qualifying travel is completed for Bonus Miles to appear.
- You must register for this promotion on or before September 30, 2009.

I am unable to sigh up for the double miles deal. I have traveled on Delta/nw on July 18 from Redmond-Bend to GTR and then round trip to Roanoke, V a. Aug. 19 to 29. I want to sign up for sky miles,(I am a World Perks member) but do not have an American Express credit card, how do I get one?
