Discover’s personal finance tool lets you see all your Discover Card purchases through graphical charts which organize your purchases into categories such as travel, supermarkets, and gas. You then have the ability to take a closer look at your spending, with the ability to drill down to view greater detail and compare spending behavior over time.
- See Purchases by Category – Understand how individual purchases add up.
- Compare Spending Patterns — Quickly see your spending over different time periods.
- Sort by Details – Display transactions by category, merchant or date for easy reference.
I like this tool, but the obvious drawback is that it only looks at your Discover purchases. Chances are you need something more robust like Quicken to see the full picutre. You can also check out tools like DebtGoal if your objective is to reduce your overall debt. But the fact that a credit card company is trying to help out in today’s environment is a step in the right direction.
