by Rate Nerd on May 27, 2009

Get a 3.25% APY on a 3 year CD with a minimum deposit of $500 at Acacia Federal Savings Bank. This rate beats the national average 3 year certificate of deposit rate of 2.39% APY and may be just what the doctor ordered for your CD ladder.

Acacia Federal Savings Bank (Acacia Federal) is a thrift institution which has been operating in the Washington DC Metro area since it opened in March 1985. It is a subsidiary of the Acacia Life Insurance Company.

This rate is no longer available (it’s 3.10% APY for the same term);
granted, it’s still a heckuvalot better than the 1.6% I’m getting for my MMA’s!

I completely agree – thanks for the update. You should also check out today’s post on Ally Bank’s rates – other banks are complaining their Yields are too high!
