interest ratesUSAA Federal Savings Bank has some competitive rates on their standard, Jumbo and Super-Jumbo CDs.

Build your CD Ladder by staggering rates and terms on Certificates of Deposit.

Standard CD Rates for Certificates of Deposit between $1,000 and $95,000 are 2.25% for the 2 year CD, 2.40% for the 3 year CD, and 3.25% for the  5 year CD respectively. The super-jumbo CD rates are 2.56% APY for the 2 year CD, 2.81% APY for 3 year CD , and 3.56% APY for 5 year CD.

The rate locks in upon application and you can fund the account electroinically. All CD rates are also available for IRAs as well. The grace period is 10 days at maturity. The early withdrawal penalty on these certificates of deposit is 180 days’ interest. These rates are available nationwide.

Build a CD Ladder

CD laddering protects you from interest rate fluctuations, with access to some of your money in a short time frame.

You build the ladder by buying several CDs at one time, each with different maturity dates (for example, one year, two year, three year, four year, and five year CDs). Every year one of your CDs will mature and you can then roll it over into a new CD with the best yield available at that time.
